Faith has many definitions, but they all mean to depend on.
Depending on something anchors you to it.
FOR EXAMPLE:
When a student’s final grade depends on his exam score, the final grade anchors to the exam score.
(The characteristics of the exam score define the final grade.)
In the same way, depending on Jesus anchors you to Him.
(The characteristics of Jesus define you.)
