Psalm 45 (Rhyming)
(1) Praising the King [Jesus]
A pleasant thought stirs in my heart,
So for the King, I have words to impart.
My mouth is like a writer’s pen,
Declaring He’s brighter than all other men.
Your lips are like fountains of grace untold,
And on You, God’s blessings forever unfold.
(3) King’s Glory Displayed
O Mighty One, pick up Your blade,
Let Your shimmering majesty be displayed.
In Your splendor, ride triumphantly ahead,
Causing truth, humility, and rightness to spread.
Embrace the power that You possess,
And discover Your inner epic-ness.
Yours arrows bring nations to their knees,
Piercing the hearts of Your enemies.
(6) King’s Wedding Ceremony
Forever, O God, Your throne will remain;
Justice is what distinguishes Your reign.
Since You hate what’s wrong and love what’s right,
God anoints You with overflowing delight.
Exotic fragrances soak Your attire,
While palace music lifts Your spirits higher.
Your maids of honor are princesses from lands untold.
Your queen’s beside You, decked out in gold.
(10) Advice to Bride
Bride, listen closely to what I’m about to say:
Just let your family of origin fade away.
The king longs for your beauty and splendor,
He’s your Lord now, so go ahead and surrender.
Bringing many gifts, wealthy nations attend,
All the rich ones want to be your friend.
(13) Beautiful Bride Approaches
The bride is a radiant sight to behold,
Wearing a dress interwoven with gold.
In her beautiful dress, to the King she’ll go,
With bridesmaids close behind her in a row.
They’re walking in full of joy and cheer,
Into the King’s palace, they’re drawing near.
(16) King’s Legacy Will Endure
Following their father, Your sons will stand,
You’ll make them princes throughout the land.
I’ll make generations remember Your name,
Unending thanks they will proclaim.
