Psalm 46 (Rhyming)

(1) Don’t Fear—We Have God

God is our shelter and our source of power,

He’s ready to help in our darkest hour.

So in this changing world, we have nothing to fear

When mountains sink to the sea and disappear.

You don’t have to be scared of a raging sea,

Or mountains that swell with majesty.

(4) God Stabilizes His City

God’s city is gladdened by one River’s supply,

His city is sacred and home to the Most High.

God is in her midst, so she will not teeter,

At the break of dawn, His help will meet her.

Other nations totter, as they roar in disarray,

But He just raises His voice, and everything melts away.

The Existing One of all creation is with me and you,

Yes, Jacob’s God is the stronghold we run to.

(8) The God Who Silences Wars

See what God’s doing with His own hand,

As He sweeps destruction across the land.

All over the world He causes wars to fizzle,

Spears snap in half; chariots burn and sizzle.

“Stop striving!” He says, “And acknowledge My divinity,

“One day I’ll be recognized in every vicinity.”

The Existing One of all creation is with me and you,

Yes, Jacob’s God is the stronghold we run to.
