Zechariah 14

(1) Half of Jerusalem will be Captured

A day is coming when the Existing One, will take everything that’s been looted from you and distribute it to others right in front of your eyes. He’ll gather all the other countries against Jerusalem in a battle where they capture the city, loot the houses, and violate the women. Half of the entire city will be taken as captives, but the other half will stay.

Then the Existing One will go ahead and wage war against those countries. When that day comes, He’ll stand on the Mount of Olives, which is located in front of Jerusalem on the east side. The Mount of Olives will be split down the middle, creating a large valley that runs from east to west. Half the mountain will be to the north and half to the south.

You’ll escape through that valley between My mountains which reaches to Azel [site unknown]. Yes, you’ll leave in the same way that you fled when the earthquake came while Uzziah was Judah’s king. Then my God, the Exiating One will come with all His people who have been set apart.

(6) God Will be the Only One

In those days, there won’t be any light because the glorious ones [stars?] will curdle. The Existing One knows when that will be. There won’t be day or night, but there will be light in the evening.

In those days, living [flowing/fresh] water will flow out of Jerusalem. Half will flow toward the eastern sea, and half will flow toward the western sea. It will flow in both the summer and the winter.

And the Existing One will be king over the whole world. In those days, the Existing One will be the only one there is, and His name will be the only one.

(10) Jerusalem will Stand

The entire region will be turned into a desert, all the way to the city of Rimmon, which is south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem will stay up in its place—from Benjamin’s Gate to the First Gate to the Corner Gate, as well as from the Hananel Tower to the king’s wine presses. People will live there, and it won’t be a curse anymore, because Jerusalem will live in security.

(12) Israel’s Rivals will bow to God

Now here’s the plague that the Existing One will strike everyone with who has waged war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. In those days, the Existing One will send a great panic over them, and they’ll grab each other, and end up fighting each other. Judah will fight at Jerusalem too. Then the wealth will be gathered from all the surrounding countries—there will be so much gold, silver, and clothing. This plague will also affect the horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and livestock in those camps.

Then the remaining people from all the countries that waged war with Jerusalem will end up going there every year to bow down to the King, the Existing One of all creation, and celebrate the Feast of Booths. If any families don’t go to bow down to the King, their crops won’t get any rain. (For example, if Egypt’s family doesn’t go, then they won’t get any rain.)

That will be the plague that the Existing One uses to strike the countries that don’t travel to celebrate the Feast of Booths. That will be the consequence for Egypt and other countries who don’t go celebrate the Feast of Booths.

(20) God will be Set Apart

In those days, the horses will have bells with inscriptions that read, “The Existing One is set apart.”

And the cooking pots in the Existing One’s house will be like the bowls that are in front of the altar. Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be set apart to the Existing One of all creation, and everyone who makes sacrifices will come and use them for boiling things.

In those days, there won’t be any Canaanites in the Existing One’s house. [The Canaanites were the people who lived in Israel before Israel.]
